FAU to play C. Michigan in Motor City Bowl

Florida Atlantic accepted a bid Sunday to play Central Michigan in the Motor City Bowl in Detroit.

The Owls, the defending Sun Belt Conference co-champions, were 6-6 this season and appeared to be on the outside looking in for a bowl bid. But when the Big Ten didn't have enough eligible teams to fill its bowl slot in Detroit, the Motor City came looking for FAU.

The Owls reached their first bowl game last year and beat Memphis in the New Orleans Bowl.
